Bring water, bring people, bring them together

The circle, a universal symbol of unity and connection, is proposed in this project as a form that brings people together and links them to the three fundamental planes: openness to the sky, connection with the earth, and closeness to the sea.
People are not merely visitors, but an integral part of the concept: they write the story, give life to the space, and transform it into a shared experience. The circle thus becomes both a path to follow and a place for pause, viewing, and contemplation.

The proposal of this project intentionally extends beyond the boundaries of the site, emphasizing the importance of the place’s history, knowing that this space was once occupied by the sea. This gesture brings the presence of water closer to people and reconnects them to the authentic vibration of the site.
The walkway turns into a living journey where people connect with one another and with nature, share stories and experiences, witness art performances, and discover a deeper bond with the surrounding environment.

The project employs three contemporary materials: concrete, metal, and glass. Concrete defines the walkway as a solid element, intended to visually protect the citizens. At the points of maximum curvature, it transforms into two urban benches, inviting moments of pause and contemplation.
Metal plays both a structural and a poetic role: it becomes a water installation that embraces the inner side of the circle, creating a curtain of water that accompanies the visitors’ experience. Glass is chosen for its transparency, allowing the gaze to go beyond the physical boundary of the walkway and open toward the landscape.
